Red, green and blue are the primary colors used by electronic displays. What do your red, blue and green gems look like? Please show me more gemmy eye candy!

These are rough crystals rather than cut gems:

Red:
Gemmy ruby 3.JPG
This is ruby in marble from an unknown location, but possibly Jegdalek, Afghanistan

Green:
Emerald in matrix.JPG
This is an emerald crystal in matrix from the Panjshir Valley, Afghanistan

Blue:
Sapphires 1.JPG
These are sapphires and were bought >20 years ago, and labelled as being from Montana. This is wrong, and the evidence is pointing to old stock from the mines in Kashmir, India

My Rubellite:

590472

Rubies:

590465
586166
582974

Mahenge Spinel:
698136

A red Spinel with Tsavorite:

577335

Green Toumaline next to my EC:

589763

Green Tourmaline cab:

589177

A tiny Emerald amongst Ruby cabs, an EB Topaz and an Amethyst:

575532

Don't have any blues except EB and natural blue Topaz at the mo. A medium blue Sapphire to be cut by JW in his signature Asscher cut is on my bling bucket list.

DK :))

What's EB? I totally thought you had blue zircon!

Thanks voce. The emerald was a bargain at $9.99, and the sapphires were only £12!

@voce EB as in Electric Blue.

I have blue Zircons, however I personally do not believe they fit in as blues in RBG gems as they are more turquoise to me.

DK :))

Another blue:
Blue spinel in matrix from the Hunza Valley 2.JPG
It's spinel in matrix from the Hunza Valley, Pakistan. The camera has added a bit of a violet modifier that isn't there in real life.

Facet rough, but I just dropped off some stones to be cut. Looking forward to recreating the picture with the finished gems :)
