Since Pricescopers have such great taste and attention to detail I'd love to hear your thoughts! A few searches on the topic came up empty so I decided to start this thread. Please share your own stories and photos if you care to. Particularly how you factor your jewelry into choosing your glasses.

Until recently, glasses were my only accessory for 15+ years. I used to buy for style but now I prioritize comfort. I always choose plastic and non-branded (wearing a brand-name across the side of my face is just not my style). Here's a link to the brand I'm wearing now - Swissflex, and the store I got them from.

My pair are pale pink crystal front and brown arms that blend with my skin/hair color. I've included a sample photo but I'll take photos of my own pair in daylight soon.

Hope to hear from you!

These are my glasses; I had them custom made. They are 18K rose gold.

I love them because they are super light to wear and the rose gold compliments my skin. They are surprisingly durable and incredibly comfortable!

Thank you! I do love them! Before I had them made I considered a pair like yours- I think the flexible arms are such a good idea!

There's the side of mine! The front is just black rectangular. They are black with Tiffany blue on the inside and I <3 them!!!! photo%201_5.jpg

I have had the same frames for like 10 years, they still look great. But this year Im going to actually get new ones, probably almost the same and pack my current ones away for travel so I am not panicking that Ill forget them. I only wear them at night before bed or when my eyes are on fire from allergies.

Thin wire frames only, with or without frames around the lenses either in classic black or blue. It must also have flexible arms. I refuse to wear plastic frames, sparkles or any other colours.

Basic and utilitarian.

Chrono, mine are very similar to yours. Do your glasses have flexible sides? I can twist mine all around. I think they might be kids' frames, actually. I also have magnetic sunglass frames (minus the sides/arms) that attach to the upper part of the bridge.

This is my pair of glasses:

but in this colourway:

Had them for 2 years and still love them! I get tons of compliments on them and they still fit as perfectly as the day I picked them up. Mine are progressives with every coating available as well as the ultra thin lenses.

Glasses are fun-you can really change your look so easily..I wish they weren't so expensive! These are mine that I just got over the summer http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA06H08G9051 The shape is different than the other two pairs I've had since I started needing them in 2000. My first pair were super thin and a pretty blue that matched my eyes, then I had thin gold ones w/little sparkles in the sides. These are the first pair that have thicker sides, and a funky lens shape, the others had slightly bigger lenses. They remind me of the packaging of turtle candy.

I love the ones that are frameless w/the color in between the lenses and on the sides. They had some at the eye doctors but they would've been about twice what my turtle glasses were so I had to pass.

My last 3 pairs of glasses have all been the Anne Klein 9085 style. First pair were blue, next two pairs are what they call 'burgundy' but which look reddish brown to me.

They have a touch of silver on the front, which matches my white gold jewelry, and the reddish brown color matches my hair color.

My next frames will probably be from Warby Parker. I like a lot of their new Titanium collection.

My frames cost me £29! I'm such a miser when it comes to glasses. I have had these ones for a couple of years and if my prescription changes I will probably just replace the lenses

Has anyone found a favourite online prescription eyewear site that they recommend? Have you found that buying sight unseen, worked out by plugging in your parameters? Just curious - some of the savings look incredible!

here are mine, I just got them a few months ago. I had a pair of Fendi eye glasses that were all black but I lost them ;( These are Vianni. I like them because they're really light and I barely feel them on my face. Always loved frameless glasses, I think they look sleek. These cost me 300$ total...not too bad in comparison to some of the prices I was seeing. I have never gone the online route only because I feel like anytime I go into a store to find a pair, I try on 0730974578944753489 pairs before finding the ones that look good on me. I always gravitate towards glasses that, when I try them on, don't look good.

Yup, flexible arms too. This pair does not have the magnetic sunglasses attachment but my previous pair did.

I was wondering if anyone has the progressive lenses (darkens outdoors, lightens indoors)? They took forever to lighten indoors years ago and should have improved by now. Any personal experience? Love it or hate it?

Does no one have more than one pair? I think I have around 8-10 pairs of optical glasses that I rotate through to match my outfits and accessories. Now I'm getting the feeling that my collection is ridiculously eccentric compared to most!

I will take pictures of them tonight when I get home. I have mostly plastic frames in a range of colours and styles, but recently bought two pairs of wire frames which I'm loving for the different feel and look.

Favourite brands are Kirk Originals, Face a Face and l.a. eyeworks.

Chrono, I think the transitional lenses are better now than when they first came out. My mom always gets them when she gets new glasses, and one of the little girls in preschool has them.

Z, I wish I had more than one pair! If not for the cost, I'd love to be able to rotate them according to my outfits.

Thanks for the info, Packrat.

It's not just the cost but how do you keep track of 8 pairs when I have enough trouble with one pair? That's why I get black wire frames. It goes with everything like the little black dress.

I haven't bought from them (yet) but my best friend gets all her glasses from http://www.zennioptical.com/ and has loved every pair she's purchased. Great for an inexpensive extra few pairs to have for emergencies or just to change up the look. They are certainly cheap enough.

Here are my current frames. I always choose plastic for the comfort on my nose. Metals frames with nosepads just plain aren't comfortable to me. I also like the bolder look on my face. I have always just gotten black, but this last time picked something different and love it too. It's grey and tort on the outside and a pretty pale pink on the inside. Flexible arms, love them.

I always go for black or brown plastic frames. These are the ones I just got:

I have transitions lenses and love them. My boys both have transitions and they really like them also. They don't take long to change.

I love wearing glasses! I have a few pairs, but this is my current favorite.

What a great thread! Has anyone tried the brand, Warby Parker? Looks like every pair is $95, for frames and lenses, and they have a "try 5 pairs at home" for free.

I'm with you! I have at least 5 or 6 pairs of regular glasses and about 8 pairs of prescription sunglasses. I'll try to get some pictures of my collections tomorrow.

Chrono- that's the great thing about having multiple pairs- you can "lose" a couple, and still have plenty more for back up. You know you'll eventually find the misplaced pair, but you don't have to frantically search for them as you have more to choose.
