Ok, well as we all know, colour is subjective! One of the most difficult colours to identify has to be "padparadscha". The definition is I believe a mix of orange and pink. So, let's see everyone's and then we can see how different they all look!

Here's mine (and I think MTG has a padparadscha that could be the sister of this one)! This little gem has tons of fluor (bottom pic) so is incredibly difficult to photograph accurately but it sometimes looks more pink and at other times more orange. Most of the time though you do see a mix.

Oh YAY !!!! A PICTURE THREAD !!!!! :appl: :appl: :appl:

Not mine, but a photoshopped Harry Winston piece, just to give you an idea what the most famous jeweler thinks is a padparadscha color. It has medium saturation, and medium light tone, to my eye.

LovingDiamonds, what is the size of your stone?

There are a few on Pricescope. I hope nobody minds me posting these.

Here's one I returned. There was nothing wrong with it but it just didn't rock my world. However, the pink and orange were very much evident.

LD I think I might have your padparadscha's twin. :D

Here is the one I think LD is referring to, it's unheated from Sri Lanka. It's a lovely delicate color and I love it to bits.

Did I mix you guys up? I was sure it was MTG who had my twin but looking at the photos maybe it was you Kribbie and I've got my wires crossed - apologies.

Great thread. Here is a picture of my ring, but is taken with my cell phone. It appears dark, but it isn't. The color is gorgeous if I may say so myself ha ha. LD, LOVE your ring and the color.

Thanks for starting this thread LD, I love seeing the different interpretations of a pad sapphire.

Hi Linda! :wavey: Lovely to see you posting again.

Thanks LD, :wavey:

Yum!

Nothing like a Pad thread to bring Linda out of lurking!!

I'm so glad to see your ring. It is more beautiful than I even imagined! And I have a really good imagination!!!

Ha ha ha ha ha ha, Uppy, you know me so well. :cheeky: Thank you so much. My cell phone really doesn't do the stone justice, in real life it glows and is a delicate color.
