Hee hee. Let me explain. This is actually what DH presented my ring to me in.
9.gif
He tied the ring to the ribbon, stuck it in the book, wrapped the book and gave it to me for my Birthday. Thinking the ribbon was a bookmark, I pulled on it- and there was my ring.

TOO CUTE!

What was the book?

Eldest by Christopher Paolini.

LMAO!

I was going to post it over in that *other* box thread but I don''t think people would appreciate my sense of humour right now! It''s still a bit heated over there! Hope they sort that out soon!

Dani, I think that''s the most clever idea! Great hubby!

I''m kind of partial to Whiteflash''s boxes myself. :-)

A great idea!Ill have to share that with customers when they ask for a fun way to present the ring...

Gamgirl - yeah, he totally caught me off guard. I was all, "Oh look! A bookmark!" And then I just kind of stared in shock at the ring dangling from the end, LOL! I''m NEVER surprised, and had known he was ring shopping. But he definitely came up with a way to surprise me!

jewelerman - Go for it! It worked out really well! DH actually went and found ribbon that matched the book to make it believeable as a bookmark too, LOL!

My ering box...Personally, I could care less what box my jewelry comes with because I end up finding antique boxes for each piece anyway. There's so many options on boxes that one can find something lovely whether it's antique, wooden, sterling, porcelain, etc.

Cant really read it in that last shot, here''s a better one of the lining...It folds down and snaps shut so it''s perfect for traveling.

OOhhh surfgirl, that is a beautiful ring box (and a gorgeous ring too)!
30.gif
Didn''t you have a thread with all of your vintage / antique jewelry boxes with your jewelry in them? I looked for it but I can''t find it anywhere. I would love to see those pictures again if possible. I think you have some of the most beautiful jewelry on PS...

Lovely ring box Surfgirl, it''s design is quite clever. I do remember the thread you posted a year or so ago, which showed your fantastic collection of jewelry + boxes, which were all TDF!

Here''s a shot of mine...it came in a cherry wood box from International Gems.

niccia, your ring is still AWESOME. :)

Here''s mine. Very cool, italian leather and a creamy white. Despite their bad rep, Jared has really nice boxes lol.

Monkey pie...an empty box? Where''s the ring? That''s half the fun! hehe

Here''s my newest box from Whiteflash. All of the pieces were bought from them. Not included is the DBY necklace we got for my Mom''s birthday, but it wasn''t available for the photoshoot. (I''d have to steal it from her neck!)

I love that box jelly! I''m sorry I don''t remember, but did you buy all the pieces at once, and that''s why you got that box? If not, how did you come to have it, I want one!

Thanks MonkeyPie...I just got a new camera and I have been trying to get some decent shots - so frustrating! I never realized how hard it is to take a picture of something small. Still working on it though....oh and I want to see a picture of your ring inside that lovely box as well!

LOL I didn''t even think of it! Duh. I''ll take another one tonight heh.

Here is the box I had made for my fiance. It was made by Jane at Greentree Creations. She does amazing work. The box is a 3"x3" mohogany box with silver barrel hinges. The image is a male twelve spotted skipper dragonfly that I shot while at work. My fiance loves the image. The image is set on a madrone burl background and is made from various stained wood inlays.
