WOOOOO

IS anyones RHR bigger than their ER set???? If so does it over shadow your ER???? WOOOO

Should your RHR be smaller than your ER set????

I usually just wear a band of e/cs on my right hand, but have a right hand ring I sometimes wear. While I would tend to say it should be smaller, that is just a quirky thing. It is not based on anything scientific...I think get what you want and it does not matter in the end!

IMO no....i think of my mother for ex who had a pretty sizeable e-ring but had this large "cocktail" rings that were much bigger that she worn on the other hand and even here in nyc i have friends who have fairly modest e-rings, arent into getting a bigger stone but have large bands or colored stone rings on the right hands

Not sure if my response counts since my RHR ring (which I never wear on my RH... but that''s another problem) has a sapphire center stone and diamond sides. It was substantially bigger than my original (all diamond) e-ring, but since it was a sapphire I never gave it a second thought.

Woo, since the RHR is such the big thing now days I see many many beautiful rings that would qualify but wondered if it was ok for them to be larger than my wedding set. In the past it seemed as if the er had to be the largest... woooo

I feel like traditionally the engagement ring would be largest just because that is the biggest diamond purchase most people make in life, but if you''re a sentimental person who doesn''t want to upgrade your engagement ring and can afford a larger rhr...then I say go for it!!!

I for one don''t think I could ever upgrade/change/replace my 1 ct engagement ring, but if I suddenly struck it rich, I don''t think I''d turn down a 3ct RHR...

My thoughts exactly.

I feel the ering should be bigger. But if you forced a bigger stone on my right hand......

interesting.....

I don''t think it matters if the RHR is bigger.

I think most people assume the ER is the more "valuable" and cherished of the two, simply because of all it represents...

I think it totally depends on the person. While some might think the e-ring should be the center of attraction, you have many women who don''t want the ring they wear every day for the rest of their lives to be too showy (which again, what is "showy" for one person might not be for the next); thus, if they want to occasionally wear a more attention-grabbing ring, the right hand would be the place to do it, if you''re sentimental and always want to wear the wedding set on the left. It seems like there could be as many different ways of wearing your rings as there are people, and there there are no particular "rules" about it.

(I am going to have my original e-ring diamond reset, and that ring will be blingier than the second-hand e-ring I got to go with my wedding band, so when I wear both, the bigger diamond ring will be on the right.)

It wouldn''t matter to me which is bigger, and I don''t think conventionally it matters.

However, since I''m a lefty, wear my ering on the left hand and don''t like big rings on my right hand, I''d probably use the money to buy a second ''ering'' or upgrade!!!

no rules wooo!

What are you considering for a RHR?

I agree with many of the previous posters... Are there any un-breakable rules?

I think some people definitely would choose to keep their original e-ring on their left hand due to setnimental reasons and if they were to get other rings in the future, would wear those on the right (regardless of size). However, there are others who feel that the larger stone should always be "showcased" on the left ring finger and so will opt to do that.

While I am in the process of considering an upgrade, I have to honestly say that I originally thought I would put the new, bigger ring on my left hand...but am now having second thoughts. I''m thinking maybe I should keep my original e-ring on my LH (although in reality, it has undergone one setting change already) and for my upgrade, get a 3-stone and put that on my RH. Decisions, decisions...!

But to answer your question, Woo -- I don''t think there is a definite right or wrong. Either way, the more diamonds - right or left - the better!

If I had a 3 ct. RHR, I might switch hands, because I believe my left hand gets less "wear and tear".....don''t use it to handle keys and reach into file cabinets, drawers, etc. at work...........I''m always afraid of giving it a whack or something!! (my right hand, since I''m right handed, although I worry about my rings on either hand!!)
