I''ve been searching for an asscher diamond for an engagement ring for about a month now and i''m finding that the population of stones out there with my specifications is pretty scarce an that i''m getting the same stones presented by every online source and similar stones at jewelers (more expensive). I''ve went from wanting a 1.5c to finding out based on my budget that I could afford the 1 3/4c stone while still staying at an F or above with a VS1 or above, EX/EX. I just wanted to get others opinions out there that deal with Asschers more.

Should I wait for more stones to become available? Is there seasons were more stones are available then others? As I haven''t really set a date to propose (being flexible) I have some time and just wanted to see if playing the waiting game could yield a better result.

Well cut asschers are hard to find, so I would be inclined to purchase as soon as a good one comes up, have you tried
www.goodoldgold.com ? Jon might be able to source you a great asscher.

I have checked there site which doesn''t have anything in the size/quality range i''m looking. I sent Sarah an email over there and am waiting on a response. We''ll see what they come up with but i''m noticing that all of the sites talked about on Pricescope whiteflash, union, james allen, etc. are pretty much showing the same inventory.

A month is rather short if your requirements are specific. I''d give it another 2 months, let some of these jewelers know what you''re looking for and see what crops up. Don''t rush or you''ll just end up with a compromise at best. Then when the real deal appears AFTER you settled on that asscher, you''ll be kicking yourself every day for not waiting just that little bit longer.
