Should I repair my ER or get a new setting?

Hello everybody! Listen, I am stuck between two choises on ER.
Here is my story. I had a 1.3carat on WF ''diamonds for an eternity''. Some of you may remember that I recently upgraded my stone to 1.8carat stone. Here is my setting.

WF still got the new and old stone to have them inspected.

Well, when I sent my old 1.3carat stone and my setting back to WF, I had to have the local jeweler cut it because I could not get the ring off my finger. ( I gained weight dramatically recently and I had sizing beads set on my ER...stupid me)

That was okay. I was rather happy to do it because I wanted to get a new setting. Since I sent this cut setting and an old stone to WF, I have been looking for a new setting.
Here is what I found. It''s a Memoire Purity engagement ring and I immediately fell in love with it the moment I saw it in person.

I cannot afford to purchase a wedding band to match with it right now but I am planning to do so in the future to get a complete set.
Well, that WAS my plan up until this morning till I saw an email from WF.

Today, I got an email from WF stating that they could repair my old ring (diamonds for an eternity) by repairing the shank where it''s cut but it is not gonna be completely round like it used to bebut they would do it for $225. They will also put a new head for a bigger diamond.
WF is wonderful! They try their best to fix my ring! I really, really appreciate it...and I can save a lot of money by going with WF than paying so much money on my brand new setting on Purity collection.

I am worried that if I let WF fix it, the scar will be there and and it may cause unstability on the surrounding melee to may cause one of them falling off the ring in the future.

What do you all think? Should I stick with WF and get my old engagement repaired to save money or should I get a brand new setting which I will be happy with?

Since the style isn't too much different, maybe get your current ring repaired for now, and then save up to buy the Memoire when you can get both the e-ring and w-band at the same time.

I''d vote to repair the old setting with the new head for now, and to save up for the Memoire set ... WhiteFlash has an excellent reputation for quality control and customer service, so, a) I think they''ll probably do the job right the first time around, and b) if a stone does get loose, they''ll repair it. Of course, that''s my practical side: if you love the Memoire, you love the Memoire, and it''s not like you *have* to wear it with the matching ring - I think that style would look lovely with a plain band. That said, if you''re experiencing sizing fluctuations, maybe waiting until things stabilize or going for a 3/4 or 1/2 eternity might be a good option, both for practicalities sake, and for finance?

I personally prefer your old setting (but both are lovely!). I would repair it, save the money and perhaps change down the line...Just my thought!

I''d just repair the old ring for now and save up for a new setting later. I would ask WF whether the repair will make the melee less stable than before. They will be honest with you.

My hubby will be home soon, so I am going to duscuss the option with him tonight.

I will think it over tonight and decide what to do.

I too would say repair it. WF will do an awesome job. They are both beautiful settings, but I like the WF one alittle more.....

I like the suggestion of saving up til you can get the Memoire ER and WB together. You could then maybe try to find the WF setting a new home.....

Who knows, you might change your mind again in the meantime and have another beautiful set you''re lusting after......its happened many times to me and other Psers

First of all, I thank all of you giving me your practical opinion on this issue.

Well, I guess I end up with buying a brand new setting anyway.

WF told me they cannot make my old setting bigger anymore. If they can''t , there is no point repairng it.
So...I am going to go fo a plan A which is to go after Memoire Purity collection.

I will try to post a picture when it''s done. I am still waiting AGS lab to clear my old diamond for upgrade.
