Should I order this stone?

So I currently have a .78 D SI1 oval diamond (7.54x5.01) and was looking to possibly upgrade slightly. I ordered a stone as an upgrade, but had to return it due to the prominent bowtie. I originally purchased my diamond through Lumera Diamonds so I would have to order through them again as I get a credit that goes towards the new stone. I found another stone that is .80 VS2 E (7.50x5.40) and am told it is eye clean, beautiful and has minimal bowtie. It has a depth of 58% and table 62%. The symmetry and polish is better than my current. Is this too shallow? I am told it is an 8 main pavilion. Is thr size worth it? It would cost me $546 to order the stone with my credit for my current. I don't know if I should order or not? I attached a photo of my ring and a comparison of the 2 stones.

What do you consider an upgrade? It is a little wider but I dont think it's worth the effort...shorter stone/lower color. 58% is
on the shallow side and paired with a large table doesnt sound so great. Cant they send you a picture? What are they looking
at to tell you that its eye-clean, minimal bow-tie etc.

I think if you have to go through a lot of effort to upgrade (no pictures and depend on what they say) then you need to actually
upgrade more.

Do you just not like the cut on your current oval?

I think I would find a stone at another site that has images and ask if they can get that stone in.

I agree that your current stone fits the setting, so I am not sure it would be worth the trouble, either. I do like the proportions of the new stone more, but it's really impossible to tell much without a video or ASET image of the stone. You may be able to find the stone you are considering on another site such as James Allen or Enchanted Diamonds, and they may have images.

Thank you all for the advice. I found the same stone listed on BlueNile and requested a photo. They say it has no bowtie. Thoughts?

It's hard to tell from that photo, but are you able to order it to look at before you give up your current stone?
