should I Metal down or Sell and start over on 2 bands

I don''t know if this is right place or not but I need some help. I still have the 2 platinum bands my old jeweler made for me and I need somd advice. They take away from my viachi setting that I need some help. They are 4.8 pennyweight each with .50ct of baguette of diamonds. I hate the bands so I need advice should I melt them down and start over or should I just sell them for the diamond and platinum value and then find one band I like? How much do you normally get for platinum when you sell it???? I am new at this. I have soooooooooo much in the bands and hate them
