so I received my diamond today! so excited! but I am still nervous because I have zero knowledge of fancy colored diamond. I picked this one because it looks good to me, but I have no idea if it really is one worth keeping. could you please check the pictures and let me know how do you think?

it is a fancy yellow diamond. the first two pics were taken under "spot light" and the last one was by window at natural light. the last one is closest to its real color.

I appreciate it so very much for your opinion!

it looks sparkly, it looks like a lovely color. i like the shape. Do you like it? do you feel it has an even sparkle thoughout the stone?

hey Niel, yes it looks like it sparkles throughout. its more like a lot small glitters rather than big flashes. I am not sure how sparkle it is comparing to other YD though since I only have this one so far.

that type of pinpoint flashes are common for fancy diamonds. they are often cut with faceting patterns that will help concentrate the color. part of the reason the stone looks that color is because its that cut. do you like it or do you wish it had broader flashes? ive heard a nice crushed ice cushion or radiant in the right lights can sparkle like a disco ball.

do you like the color how about with you skin tone?

hey Niel, thank you so much for the reply! I like how evenly the color spreads out and the shape. It is a lemonish color. I was told it will be darker after setting. is it true? how much can an enhancement cup help?

I bet you have seen a lot FCD. how do you think of this stone?

I haven't seen a lot of FCD, but I love that stone and that color! Personally I prefer the slightly more delicate shading in the last picture... but that's of course a very personal thing. I guess what I'm saying is I wouldn't go overboard trying to enhance the yellow color.

i only wish ive seen a lot! i live in an area where they are very rare, so all my experience is with photos and vid

i love your stone though, from what ive seen. i think the color looks nice and the shape is great. from your photos it looks sparkly, but i know the best way to judge is with it in hand, so you have to decide there. and yes, from what ive see a cup can have a great effect on the color

Sorry if the question is redundant as I don't hangout much in RT but I presume the FCD comes with a GIA lab report? It looks nice and whether it is worth keeping depends on whether you love it, price paid, time constraint, etc. It might not matter, but just in case, can you please post the numbers from the lab report?
