I have been to so many jewelery stores that I feel like an amateur gemologist! Still learning lots but I don''t want a deal to pass me by!

I was planning on buying a sparkly (Ideal, G-I, 1.0-1.2ct ring in March but I ran across this today:

I like the last picture where the ring is on the hand the best.

It is a Tacori Setting which I want - and it is a much nicer one that I would be able to afford
Center is 1.014cts
Cut: AGS 0 Ideal
Color: AGS 2.0H
Clarity: AGS 6 SI2

It is USED (worn for 8 months). Which I am having some problems with, but just entertaining the idea....

How hard is it to make a ring like that look brand new again - removing the stone, polishing, etc?

5,000 at auction

buy for 7,000

Well assuming you could get it idependently appraised before purchase, it could be a nice deal. BUT that being said, you NEED to make sure your lady is ok with getting a used ring. Some women would not be happy with that, and it''s something you shouldn''t lie about. That being said, if she is ok with it then by all means save yourself some $.

I think it looks great and if your GF is ok with used, I think it''s a great way to save some green. Just a word about polishing though. Since it has millgrain on it, they are very limited in how much they can polish. I speak from experience. My jeweler actually polished off all of the millgrain on parts of my setting by accident. Some millgrain is done by machine by the designer before any diamonds are set and most jewlers only have hand tools for millgrain and they rarely match the machine work. Since the damage done to my ring isn''t repairable, they are ordering me a brand new one. Just setting your expectations for what could be done to make it "like new". Good luck!

They took those photos in early August which is an indicator they''ve had it for sale for more than 3 months. Offer less.

It is gorgeous - I love Tacori!!! I would talk to your SO about it being used though, because personally used wouldn''t be my first choice, but a ring like that would be, so...

Good Luck!

I would wear it even if it was used if it saved me $$$>

I would jump on it personally myself. Lovely ring and rock. Bargain!

HI:

Only b/c you are asking about Tacori--previously owned....I saw this ad locally:

Thought I''d pass it along, your USD would go further (now) in Canada!
