My local jeweler called me yesterday and found a diamond. I went and looked at it and it looks naked eye clean and beautiful.

1.57 ct round, G, Si1
GIA certified
7.43x7.50x4.62
Cut - Ex
Polish - Ex
Sym - VG
Table - 55%
Depth - 61.9%
Crown Angle - 33.5 (Here is my concern)
Crown % - 14.5
Pav Angle - 41.0
Pav % - 43.5
HCA - 1.1
AGA - 1B

This stone costs $15,850 out the door and is well over my $15,000 budget BUT b/c I'm buying it from him I'll save on getting it mounted, his labor costs and any cleanings and appraisals are free. This also means I'm giving up getting an anniversary ring this year which my husband REALLY wanted to give me. However, he thinks we should move forward with this stone since it will more than likely increase in value and we can buy the anniversary ring for not much more another year.

My other option was this one on JamesAllen:

I talked toa gemologist about this stone and she said it is naked eye clean and gorgeous. She said it is by far the nicest stone they have in the 1.5 ct, G colored range. It is currrently on hold until Monday and is about $15,260.
HCA is 4.7 !!!!
AGA is 1B

OR keep looking.

Prefer the local stone. JA stone has visible leakage that can be seen even in the loupe image, IS image will be much more obvious.

The local stone is much better than the JA. I did a price comparison on 1.57 G SI1 and your local store is very competitive. Here is a 1.57 G SI1 from JA for $17,310.

If you want to stay under budget you will have to go with H color.

However, I must say you have the advantage with the local stone of seeing it and knowing that it is a beautiful stone...I would go with the local stone.
