I have the chance to get a decent .90 carat round stone
here are the stats:
E color
VS1 Clarity
Very Good Cut
Depth: 62.2 %
Table: 56 %
Girdle: Thin to Slightly Thick, Faceted
Culet: None
Polish: Good
Symmetry: Good
Fluorescence: None
Clarity Characteristics: Feather, Cloud

The only thing I''m worried about is the Polish and symmetry as only being rated "good"... is this diamond going to lack luster and fire due to this "good" polish rating? This is an internet sale with a return policy. Will I be diappointed in this stone?
the price is right though.. only $2,600... so im very tempted
any help is appreciated

Welcome to Pricescope!

We really need the crown and pavilion angles to be able to judge this diamond, so if you could get those we can be of more help. It is said by experts that polish and symmetry of good and above looks the same the naked untrained eye, although some prefer higher such as excellent and ideal, if the angles are good, then the diamond can be worth consideration. So get the angles if you can, as these will be the deciding factor. Can you request an Idealscope image for this diamond?

We also need the diameter measurements please.

the measurements are:
6.17 - 6.20 x 3.85 mm

but i cant get the angles... its gia cert but only dossier

In that case, the way to get the angles would be to ask the vendor if he could run a Sarin report on the diamond, but is the diamond already set in a ring? Have you actually seen the diamond? The price looks very cheap when comparing to others which are similar....

this is a second hand diamond. Thats why its cheap. But the seller offered me a return policy and he seems very honest. and like i said its GIA certified so I don''t think it can be that bad. Most bad diamonds are like GSL IGI certified because they seem to inflate the grades, etc. If i brought this to a jeweler and ask for a sarin report.. how much would that cost me? thank you

Ok well in that case, I would recommend you get an independant appraisal and make the sale final on it checking out. An appraiser should be able to advise you of the cut quality too, here is a tool you can use to find an appraiser in your area.
