Should I buy this diamond?

Looked at this stone and it was much nicer than others seen at time- but they all are starting to blur together! PLease tell me if these numbers look good...

Price $5390 Excellect cut, G color, VS2 .970 ct

Good stone? Worth the price? Or can I find better via internet?

The crown and pavillion angles are steep which can have negative effects on the diamond leaking light and looking dark. It scored a 3.5 on the cut advisor, so I would say you can do better, unless as you say, you saw it and loved it.

This 1.00 G VS2 scores a 1.4 on the HCA and costs about the same. I think your price is OK, but if you took your budget and were willing to play around with color and clarity a bit, I think you could get much more wow, like:

1.08 H SI1 H&A ($5264 with PS discount)

0.91 G VS2 ACA H&A ($5299 with discount) I know this stone seems smaller than your 0.97 but compare the diameter measurements . . . not much difference there.
