should i buy some FB shares tomorrow?

or wait till all the hype is over then buy at a lower price like 3-4 months from now?

the IPO will probably be priced at about $39 tonight,but for Joe public like me will probably cost like $47-$48 to get in. my daughter wanted to buy some shares for her Roth IRA account,but i advised her to wait a few months.
 
I would wait a few weeks. I worry that people will realise it was overhyped and they will take a dip.

they priced at $38 which is = 100 billion in market cap... :wacko:
 
Every investment guru I've read or seen in the last week has said NOT, for the average Joe investor like me. Overhyped, very possibly overpriced. GM just pulled their paid ads from FB because they didn't get clicked enough to be worth the money. If FB doesn't figure out how to motivate people to click on paid ads, they could be facing trouble in the not-too-far future. Their stock price is likely to settle at a lower number after the initial frenzy dies down.

There's no way you will have access to it at the open. Those shares are spread among big investors already. The small investor (under a million shares) does not have a shot.

Also, it's been my experience that the price rockets during the hype, the big sellers take their profit, and the stock usually dips below it's IPO price within a few months. That's when you can decide to buy.

As an example, look at the Visa chart, the original IPO price set at $44. Within an hour it was in the 70's, and closed the day at $56. Within a few months it was below $44.

yeah,i think it'll trade below the IPO price within the next 3 months when more shares become available.

Good. See what it does over the next few months.. I am not buying any for now.. They will start trading at 11:30 tomorrow. DF you were very close on the number.

to be exact...327 shares. that was the amount of shares she can afford to purchase with her Roth IRA account.

she calls me at 10:15am...did you buy some FB for me?

me...ok,it is your money.

btw; until today she had never asked to purchase XX Co. for her. in the past i'm the one who decides which Co. to buy/sell with her Roth IRA money.
 
I am sorry she bought DF. In 90 days it will be flooded and then again in 120 days. I knew last night what the allocations were. You couldn't pay me to buy ONE share. Period.

yeah,i know,but what can i say?...it is her money... ::) i'd predict that within the next 3-4 months FB will trade below its IPO price. i told her tonight that if she can make a few bucks sell it.
 
So she lost $880 plus commissions and change in one day - OUCH! I hope she learns from this!

Within one week! Closed at $34.03 today. Ouch!

never,she's down about $3K .. ::) there will be a time to buy FB, but i just don't know when... :confused: IMO,the market cap of FB is still too high at 87 bil. even after this big drop.
 
It's 31 now. I bet 30 by closing. Wonder what it will do on Tuesday when the market opens... Tank more?? That would be my guess.
