Should I buy my own sidestones for resetting?

Hi everyone,

Here''s my other thread just in case anyone''s wondering ...

https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/honest-opinion-needed-sidestones-too-large.116307/

my fiance and I might be settling on resetting my ring with round sidestones (instead of pear sidestones). I found 2 perfect 0.25 round brilliant diamonds on James Allen to go with my 1.72ct, F color, VVS2 round brilliant center diamond. each one is $650 with pricescope discount included. here are the stats:

stone one:
0.25ct, F color, VVS2
4.11 x 4.13 x 2.50mm
no fluorescence
HCA rating = 0.4, TIC range

stone two:
0.25ct, F color, VVS2
4.12 x 4.14 x 2.50mm
no fluorescence
HCA rating = 1.1, TIC range

Total will be $1300.

would you say go ahead and order them for my resetting so that i am in complete control of my entire ring, or should i just trust the jeweler to pick out the sidestones? will i be risking getting bad stones this way? my original pear sides don''t have GIA certs and i only know that they are both 0.3ct, F color and VS... i don''t even know if they have fluorescence. this makes me a little nervous as i never knew if we got what we paid for.

I am planning to have it reset with either D Vatche (my original setting brand), or with Leon Mege.

any advice?

BTW, here''s pic of my photoshop work of putting in 0.25ct round sidestones on my original ring !

Knowing how picky pricescopers (myself included!) tend to buy, I''d get them myself, OR make sure to get certs on whatever stones are sourced for you.

the proportions do not look right. the length of a .30ct pear is greater than the diameter of a .25ct round. it looks more like a .45is round (whs what i have which is what i have with my 1.75. make sure the proportions are exactly what you want before you make the change. it would be such a shame not to get it perfect this time!

I would pick my own.

oh, this is just a simulation. i printed out actual 0.25ct stone sized paper and placed them on top of my ring, then i photoshoped diamonds on top of the paper area... let me post another photo of the ring with paper diamonds .... they are definitely shorter than the 0.3ct pears ...
