I hate this.

It is the cool style now.

I just hate it.

Me too Kenny.

What are you watching?

I agree Kenny. A recent, memorable long take is the incredible beach scene in Atonement. It is awe inspiring, not just for the length of the take but also because of the masterful use of orchestral music which at one point is a background soundtrack and then becomes part of the scene as the action moves toward and past a group of soldiers singing. Difficult to describe.

I don''t care for it either especially in the movie theater.

I hate it too. It actually makes me feel dizzy/ill!

I have ear issues so I am sure its all related. If I see that is the style I just switch off!

Quick cuts are sposta make the action seems faster/ more exciting and jerky camera movements are meant to make it feel more "real".

I only like it if used for a very short period of time and used appropriately.

I HATED the on foot chase scene in the most recent The fast and the furious movie. HATED! It was so much jerky camera movements and fast cuts and spastic moving shots that I had to close my eyes for a lot of the scene because of the head ache it caused.

When you can''t even tell what is happening except that they are running, it makes you feel sick and/or pissed off at the editor and director, it''s not an appropriate use of the techniques.
