Shopping for diamonds in New Delhi

Hi, I will be moving to New Delhi and will be living there for the next 3 years (at least). Are there any diamond places you would like to recommend so I don''t suffer from diamond withdrawal?

Hi there DiaDiva!

I do have one contact. I found them when they exhibited in Singapore 2 years ago. They have a booth at the exhibition every year. Someone I know bought a MASSIVE pair of earrings from them (over 6ctw!

) for SGD60k. They''re very very sparkly, and look very white (despite being a K and non-ideal cut). I wish I''d bought them instead...but anyhow....

I can give you their details when we meet in SG. You''re not moving til end of June, right? I should be back by then.

I think it''s not possible for us to ask Admin to pass emails to each other. But we shall see.

Anyway, we can always firm up details closer to the time. A place that I thought we could meet is The American Club. It''s safer than meeting say in a coffee shop or shopping centre. I kind of know what you look like (saw a pic of you in a past thread - though you might want to delete that for security reasons if you wish). You could just go there and ask for me by name (again I will post it closer to the time, then I''ll ask Admin to delete it subsequently - I know I know I''m quite paranoid!), and I''d come out and meet you at Reception. How does that sound?

I have a solid seller of Diamonds in India , they have a huge Chain in the South . I know the owner but it depends on how much you are buying , if you will ever meet him direct. Otherwise it will be middle men with the usual 20 % tax mark up .

DiaDiva, were you able to buy diamonds in Delhi? What was your experience? I am going to Delhi this summer and am interested in gold and diamond jewelry but am very worried about fakes and lab made diamonds. Any recommendations?
