Hi Everyone,

I''m new to the board and just wanted to tell about my experience(some good, some okay) at Robbins Diamonds in Philadelphia for anyone else looking to purchase an engagement ring.

My ring was purchased at the Roosevelt Blvd. location. Upon entering the store we were greeted by the staff, but not bombarded or overwhelmed. We explained that we were just looking at engagement rings. We were given the name of the sales women and told to take our time and when we were ready to let her know and she would show us what we liked. She was very professional and knowledgeable and answered all the questions we had.

Overall:
Good experience: I liked that we never felt pressured, they had competitive prices, were willing to work within our budget and they didn’t jumped on us as soon as we walked through the door.

Okay experience: I don’t like the fact that my ring is still a little loose and they told my fiancé that the ring could still be sized down smaller when in fact it cannot. Fiancé had the ring sized at the time of purchase and told that if it was still too big it could be sized smaller, but now we are being told they can’t make the ring any smaller. Not that big of an issue, just don’t like being told something and than not having a follow through.

Note:
We tired ring guards but they have broken and don’t usually that long. If anyone has suggestions on alternative sizing ideas I would be much appreciative. Thanks in advance!

Thanks for sharing.

They is usually specific people, which makes it possible to be actionable, if that''s what you want...and it sounds like you are still seeking a remedy to the sizing issue.

Using whatever process (identifying the person who told you it could be sized, and asking for more than their apology....), I''d consider having the store make the sizing work still. It sounds like this may mean getting a new ring.

Thats what my fiance suggested(about getting a different ring). I think we may just have to be firm with Robbins and tell them to find a way to size the ring properly or we may just be taking our business else where for the wedding bands.

I will be posting my recent Robbins experience shortly but if it were me I would very firmly request a reset in a style that can be sized to fit you perfectly. You want to enjoy your ring, not worry about the fit constantly.

They just seem like you may need to escalate it to a higher level of manager to get your way.

I''ll post my review soon. Good luck with your ring.

Yes, firm and talk to the right person there...if nowhere with the store manager then ask for his/her boss...you''ll start to see the action taking place!
