Hi everyone, I posted this in the Capucelli thread, but I think it deserves its own, and I wanted to ask if others have noticed this with Shopify, and how you resolved this issue. I need to get my cc info off their database!

You guys. I think Shopify somehow stores info when you don’t think you gave them permission. I just bought something (literally last night) from a new vendor and I noticed they used Shopify to check out. So I got to the point of entering my payment info and I was going to use PayPal. I clicked on “continue” and it told me I just bought it. I could not figure out how since I didn’t enter any CC or PayPal info. Then I saw that one of my cc info was already in the payment lines. I know I have used Shopify in the past for a different vendor, just not this one. I think Shopify somehow saved my info, even my cc info. I think it’s some sneaky default setting. Now I have to reach Shopify and delete the cc into! WTH!!! I wonder if it wasn’t the same with the OP. Has anyone noticed this with Shopify?

It has become the new norm to save the information in the shopping platform by default sometimes you can find and usually uncheck the box saying save it.
Amazon and google being two big ones.
Some of them you have to log into your account after the sale to remove it.

Walmart last I placed an order was opt in but they may have changed it.

I checkout as a guest whenever I can thinking it won’t save my credit card information. Now I wonder if I’ve been stupid thinking that was the case. I also uncheck the box for saving information.

If you look at the Shopify app under your account there is a "wallet" option. Look and see if your cc info is saved there. Then delete it and see if that helps in the future.
