I know recently, we had a few threads dedicated to musical selections, but I thought it would be nice to have a compilation thread. Without further ado, please share your musical selections

Ceremony-
Prelude-unsure of this. Right now, I''m thinking just classical, using Vivaldi''s 4 Seasons pieces
BP processional- Instrumental of Christopher Cross'' "Sailing" Linky
Bride intro- Bridal Chorus
Parent''s processional-probably will not be a separate song, will use the Christoper Cross song
B&G Recessional-Bridal March
BP recessional- no clue

Did I miss any ceremony music??

Reception-
BP/parents intro- "I Gotta Feeling" by Black Eyed Peas (If we get introduced to this song, it will be a the part where he sings "Here we come, here we go..."
First Dance- "Grow Old With Me" by Mary Chapin Carpenter
Father/daughter dance- "Daddy''s Little Girl" by Kippi Brannon
Mother/son dance- "Through the Years" by Kenny Rogers
Garter toss- "Fever" by Elvis
Bouquet toss- No clue
Cake cutting- "This Will Be (An Everlasting Love)" by Natalie Cole or "Can''t Take My Eyes Off Of You" by Lauryn Hill
Last dance- "Time of My Life" by Bill Medley & Jennifer Warnes

Did I miss any, lol??? I was rushing so I could go watch House, lol

ooh..fun.

here''s what i''ve got so far, but it''s not much.

ceremony. we''re having an acoustic guitar and here''s what we''re thinking.
bp processional - in my life (beatles)
bride processional - here, there and everywhere (beatles)
recessional - how sweet it is (james taylor) ...this one is questionable.

first dance...well, this is a toughie. we''ve been together 13 years so we''ve had about a million songs that are "our" song and none of them are quite right. i wanted you are the best thing by ray lamontagne but FI thinks it''s too fast. we''re debating ''make you feel my love'' (using the adele version) or otis redding''s i''ve been loving you too long). we''ve got some thinking to do.

we''re not doing bridal party intros so no songs needed. we''ll figure something out for us to come out to. not sure what his dance is with his mom to but since i don''t speak with my dad i''m thinking of dancing to somewhere over the rainbow with my mom (her name is dorothy so it''s kinda appropriate).

that''s where we are at now. we''ve gotta think of some more songs that feel like ''us''!

Ceremony:
Prelude was just random pretty stuff - I left it up to our pianist who is a dear friend.
Mothers/BP processional: "Storybook Love" (the Princess Bride theme)
Bridal processional: "Pas de Deux" from Tchaikovsky''s Nutcracker
Unity Candle/Musical Solo: "Just the Way You Are" by Billy Joel
Recessional music: "Walking on Sunshine" and "This Will Be (An Everlasting Love)

Reception (We had a live band, so none of these songs were the actual artist version, they were our band''s version):
First Dance: "What Are You Doing the Rest of Your Life" by Frank Sinatra
Father/Daughter: "Isn''t She Lovely" by Stevie Wonder
Mother/Son: "Simple Man" buy Lynyrd Skynyrd
I was supposed to dance with my grandfather to "Unforgettable" but he felt ill, so I just danced with DH again and we invited other couples onto the floor.

Then we kicked off the fun dancing with "Dancing in September" by Earth Wind and Fire, and closed down the reception with "I''ve Had the Time of my Life"

It was perfect, amazing, everything was incredible... I want to go back to my wedding and do it all over again!!!!!! :D

Ceremony
Prelude - "Winter" by Vivaldi, various classical (most likely a lot of Bach and Mozart)
BP processional - "Dawn" by Dario Marianelli
Bride intro - Insturmental of Ave Maria (the Celtic Women version, not the Christmas one)
Recessional - NO idea.

Reception
BP/parents intro - I want to do the Monday Night football theme, and have the bridal party line up and then we run down and slap their hands because I''m a huge football fan. But FI says no way
7.gif

First Dance - "Love Me Tender" by Norah Jones & Adam Levy
Father/daughter dance - "What a Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong
Mother/son dance - They haven''t decided yet. It''s possible they''ll dance the same time as me and my dad.
Anniversary Dance - Leaving it up to the DJ to pick a few appropriate songs.
Last dance - "Last Dance" by Donna Summers

Let's see:

Ceremony:
This will all be played by a string quartet and I based everything off of cello music, because I played the cello for years
1.gif
With the recessional being the exception, they are all cello solos, songs with major cello parts, or songs I have played on the cello in the past.
Prelude - "Ave Maria" and Saint-Sans "The Swan"
Processional - Bach's "Prelude" to the first cello suite (everyone will walk to this; we're a small group and cutting off songs in the middle to transition didn't seem like a good idea)
Meditational - Bach's "Arioso"
Recessional - Handel's "Rejouissance"

Reception:
First Dance - "Come Rain or Shine" sung by Frank Sinatra
Father - Daughter/Mother - Son Dance: "Moon River" sung by Louis Armstrong
Last Dance - "At Last" by Etta James

We aren't really doing any other special songs ... I told the DJ to just play whatever in the background while we cut the cake, and we're not doing any of the traditional "tosses". I also didn't want any kind of introduction, so we'll see. My DJ still wants to say our names, but he said he would do it quickly and without music.
