I was just thinking about all the projects I have planned, and I'm having a hard time keeping them straight and deciding which one to do first, mostly because every project seems to rely on a different project being completed first! I thought it might help to type them out and share them with my fellow PSers, because I know we all love a good project!

I have at least three projects in the mix:

1. Reset my e-ring tranny (<---- over there in my avatar) into something simpler. I haven't chosen anything yet, but quite like the idea of something like this in white gold or platinum and modified to fit a round centre stone:



2. Sell my e-ring setting (which might prove difficult as it's a size 9 and very much a love it or hate it style) OR find a coloured stone to put in it and wear it as a RHR. I'm thinking something along the lines of this colour (though a little lighter), but suspect the hunt might take a while because I know nothing about coloured stones and want to be 100% sure before I buy anything --



3. IF I fill my e-ring setting with a coloured stone, that leaves my four OEC babies unused, which I would then quite like to have done in these bezel settings (thanks Dreamer!):



BUT, if I sell my e-ring setting, I could use those OECs as sidestones for a five-stone RHR, with the coloured stone from project 2 as the centre stone....something like this, though obviously on a MUCH smaller scale:



Ahhhhh. It feels better to have all of that in black and white! It's clarified that I must start with the e-ring setting. Good. That's progress!

Anyone else's mind a muddle of half-formed projects? Please share!

I am not working on anything right now...I just bought a new RHR so I have to wait till a little more money is available, I have a couple of projects that I will be working on that are way down the road (like a year or so lol) but I did want to say that I LOVE the color of the stone cut by Barry...gosh that is beautiful! I would like to have a stone that color!!

My only project is hoarding OECs. It is a passion and a compulsion and so much fun. I am not a very good hoarder though, since I seem to adopt them out before they molder and become so prolific that they start to hide dead pets.

Isn't that stone just gorgeous?!? I'm a sucker for anything teal/turquoise/peacocky coloured, and that one jumped right out at me, but alas, is already sold and too small anyway, but I'll definitely be looking for something similar, though!

I think you should start your own OEC-sourcing business! You have a knack for finding great ones! And hey, I certainly don't mind the fact that you adopt them out -- my pair of little orphans is setting in over here in Old Blighty rather well!

Thanks, Dreamer! That's reassuring -- I feel like everyone here has itsy-bitsy size 4 fingers except me! I really don't know what I'll do yet...sort of depends on whether I find the right coloured stone, I think. Plus I really love my setting...ergh. Lots of thinking to do!

I'm glad you have taken over my old job!! I just kept buying them because they were so pretty and unloved. Then I adopted them out to good homes, losing money on the process just about each time.

I'm in the process of saving up for an AVR. Probably in June or July. But for preview purposes, I am going to have Jon send me a smaller stone. Just to see in person if the AVR is what I want for sure if I still want an OEC. I'm hoping to receive the preview stone by next week. Super excited cuz now it seems real!

I'm dreaming about diamond jackets - and really love the IDJ ones that Mara, Cellantini, Aljedewey, Stargurl, HOT, JLW05 all got as well as the ones that FancyDiamond, Dandi Andi have from WF. yummy yummy yummy.

I was also in the midst of wrapping up my OEC I purchased from Dreamer to send to BGD... but I ran out of packing tape. Rats... But the Barbara bezel in WG on an 18" chain is also on the horizon.

Then I'll be completely satisfied. There won't be a single thing I'll ever need again. I will have acquired all the diamonds I need...

- I'm on month 7 of a quest to reset my two and a half carat anniversary ring, and I still haven't found anything that makes me hop up and down for joy (though there's one design that's really close: I need to contact the vendor to see if it can be altered somewhat).

- if I do find a new setting, I'll have the current one reset, though I haven't decided if I'll set it with an old-cut fakey and use it as a travel ring, or set it with a faceted moonstone, and use it to scratch my itch for a diamond with eye visible milky fluorescence until a viable candidate comes along (so, if you know a vendor who carries good faceted moonstones, don't be shy!)

- still searching for a perfect match for my pear pendant, so as to make dangles

- and once that's done, searching for a bigger pendant stone: I am tempted by the idea of a great big warm cushion-cut, or, if the gods are kind, a great big warm cushion-cut WITH EYE VISIBLE FLUOR

- and am now newly inspired by YOU, Elliemay, to collect three OECs to make graduated studs on days when I'm not wearing my H&A set.

Seems like there's a major jacket trend going on right now. Trying to avoid looking at any pictures because lately I've fallen in love with everything I've seen and that's getting me into trouble! I'm sure, like you, Enerchi, I'll be totally satisfied after I've finished all of my above projects and won't ever want anything sparkly ever again. (whatever! )

I am looking for a diamond pendant (solitaire maybe- not sure yet) but my budget is small so I may have to table it till I can add more money to it. I really love OMC's and would just love a solitaire OMC pendant with a milgrain bezel (like the Barbara milgrain bezel from BGD) but because my budget is not big enough I cannot get a sizable solitaire so don't want to settle. I can always wait till my birthday (August- so far away...) and get one then. But I am keeping a watch out cause if it's meant to be it's meant to be!

Oooh! Great suggestion! Maybe Burk will set you up with a layaway plan, MizNina! That's one beautiful pendant -- you could probably get it plated in YG, right?

Ooh, Circe, you sound like me -- loads of projects in the pipeline with IFs and BUTs and ORs and MAYBEs! I don't think I've seen a stone with eye-visible fluor, so am looking forward to seeing what you find!

Oh, diamonds are so much FUN! (My poor, poor husband has now stopped asking questions when he sees me on PS -- he just shakes his head. Bless. )

I've made an inch of progress on the reset for my e-ring diamond. Actually had a ring dream last night and am thinking about doing something a bit more floral inspired by that first ring design I posted up top and my wedding flowers. I was thinking about making those loops around the stone a bit more 3-D and putting a small diamond in the centre of each, like a little flower. Still more thinking/dreaming to do, but I'm going to have to go custom with this and have started making (really bad!) sketches. I can totally see it in my head, but can't really translate it onto paper!

I am in the midst of 2 projects right now:

1) I have a 3.08 carat pear-shaped Ethiopian Opal cabochon that I'm having set into a fancy 14kt rose gold pendant with 3 diamonds. It will be done in the style/spirit of my ring but not as a matched set - I don't really do the matchy thing. I requested that it be ready in mid-June for my birthday and my favorite jeweler/artist is hard at work on it right now as I type this.


2) I have a 1.3 carat-ish emerald cut Emerald and a pair of .68 ctw F/VS2 Asscher stud earrings. I never wore the pendant and found that these studs looked small on me as earrings, but they'll be fabulous side stones for my 3 stone ring with the emerald in the middle. I'm having it custom designed and will use platinum to set it. I'm hoping for claw or fishtale prongs, and am leaving the rest of the design up to the artist. I will be called in at some point to see the wax for the proposed cast. Really looking forward to it! I'm hoping it will be ready mid-summer-ish.

Your project sounds awesome Ellie. Take your time and make sure it has exactly what you want...don't rush it. I made that mistake re my reset of my ER and well, let's just say 3 resets are enough for now and I am not in any rush to reset it again but that was my fault as my last reset was almost completed before I was a regular PSer. Did not do my due diligence but I know you are and best of luck!

I have a few projects on my list - lots of wants and lots of ideas, now I just need some dollars! :

1. I received jackets from IDJ this week and my studs might a tad too small for them. I am leaning towards keeping the jackets anyways and saving up for an upgrade for my studs. I also wouldn't mind getting a few pairs of colored stone studs to wear with the jackets

2. Starting a diamond stacking band collection. I have one thin pave band that I bought from LOGR on eBay and a few others in mind but man, eternity bands are much pricier than you would think they would be!

3. I have a small 0.30 ct OEC and I have an idea for a ring for it. I have contacted Sally from HeartofWater Jewels on Etsy and I think I will be going with them, just have to finish tweaking the design.

4. I just recently bought an oval sapphire from Gemfix that I want to have set in a ring like this. This project probably won't happen for a while because I want large-ish diamonds in the halo and I know it won't be cheap:

I would love to find a white gold (or platinum) vintage setting with old cuts for this project but I know that probably won't happen because I'm just not patient enough to find one. I think this ring is stunning though:

I've got my 3 stone e-ring reset in the works. I ordered the two sides stones in March, and I ordered the setting a few weeks ago. It should be here in the next week or so. Then I still have to find a competent jeweler to set all three stones in it, assuming the setting looks good. I'm excited but nervous to see it! Still feel like it's gonna be a while before the whole thing is done.
