Hi, I've been reading, and i keep seeing 2 to 2.2 mm as the recommended thickness of the shank for safety and structural reasons. i'm wondering if this size is ok for for smaller stones of about 0.7ct to 0.8ct as well, and if anyone has any pictures of what this shank thickness would look like with a diamond of this size.

Most PSers seem to have stones above 1ct so a 2mm band might not seem too bad, but for smaller stone, won't it make the stone seem smaller ? One pic i found was a 0.55 ct with a 2mm band in the show me the bling -> under 1ct thread, so it seems even a 0.55 ct diamond chose a 2mm band.

heres my .84 in a 2mm knife edge from JA. i think it was the perfect thickness

I think for a dainty looking ring, most will go as thin as possible. However, ~2mm is as thin as possible for all size stones, as the band just won't have the structural integrity to stand up to everyday wear at less than 2mm.
