I am looking at going with a semi-custom look. The jeweler who I am going through is looking to use a Unique Settings semimount (base in NY). To that, they will be mounting the center stone as well as adding some milgrain with a pave look to really bring out an antique look.

My question is, does anyone have any recommendations regarding Unique Settings bands? They only had the a book of settings and I am new to this world.

Also, any recommendations as to the quality of their semi-mount stones? They will be providing the 2 side stones as well as the decorative rounds.

Thank you in advance for your help.

hello Unique Settings is a good company. The quality of the side stones is variable depending on your budget.
I, as a custom jeweler don't understand why you want the most important ring of your life to be a basic design that everybody else will be wearing the exact copy of??

Hi Confused Martian-have you seen the setting in person at your local jeweler?

I used to have a Unique Settings setting. The most important thing is how good the bench is that is finishing the casting. I know BGD has done exactly what you said: gotten in one of their settings and added milgrain and hand engraving and the setting turned out gorgeous. But that's ONLY because of how good BGD is at finish work. I've seen the same thing done by a local bench and it was terrible.

What style is it you want, what shape stone do you want and what sized stone?
