No problem if its well-cut. Some diamonds are set completely enclosed. A well-cut diamond draws its light from above - the pavilion acts as a reflector for that light and it is returned to the viewer''s eyes. The diamond can be set low as low as the design of the ring and the stone''s culet permits. Bear in mind that when this is requested the head/prong typically spread lower and may not allow a future accompanying band to sit flush against the ring.Date: 11/19/2007 2:51:40 PM

When a diamond is set in the ring, can I request it be set closer to the band so the diamond does not sit as high in the prongs?? Will that affect the light going in and out of the diamond? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!
