Hi all,
More advice time... the stone is out with Erica and we are finalizing the order as we get set to make CADs. Going with platinum with a basket somewhere between the new harlow (minus the cathedral sides) and a lotus shape of my (really rough powerpoint sketching over erica's lovely CAD) design. I'm still stuck with what to do with the band, and I'm wrestling between:
- ~2mm bright cut pave vs plain shank vs engraved art deco type shank
I *really* like the look of the bright cut pave w/milgrain because its a nod to the antique/deco styles I love, its just that after reading all the pave threads here I'm just scared that I will knock out stones (even though bright cut is supposed to be much safer) and then due to my crazy work schedule I will never have time to get them replaced (and it would bug me to no end to be missing a stone)... and, if I'm being honest, I'm probably not the best at babying rings...
Further in the mix - see the pic (very yellow - iphone pic), the ring on the far left is my current ering, the stone in the middle is the one about to be set, the other older rings are mine... a big difference in style. the fiance is a bit of a minimalist - and although he said to get whatever made me most happy, I'm trying for a cleaner design as a nod in his direction.
original link - with pic of stone on my hand for finger coverage

i would love any input you all have to offer, and appreciate all the responses I have gotten - you have all been such an enormous resource to us during this process!
