I''ve been reading these forums and have learned a lot, but I have a silly question. I have a 1 CT RB stone in a 2.5 mm comfort-fit platinum setting. (It''s from BN, if that helps at all. http://www.bluenile.com/diamond-ring-platinum-solitaire_3804?filter_id=1&collection_id=234)

Ideally, I''d like a wedding ring to sit flush or nearly flush against the engagement ring, but I''m having trouble finding a band that will because the diamond is set so low on the band. The matching plain platiinum band does, but of course I''d like a diamond band!

(And I''m also not fond of curved rings.) Does anyone have any suggestions about a diamond band that might work? I scoured the web and haven''t found much. I think if the band was slightly rounded, like comfort bands generally are, it would be ok, but everything I see is very squared. Alternatively, I''d be interested in suggestions for having such a band made. Thanks for any insight!

So it''s the shape of prongs on your ring that are getting in the way of a band sitting flush...the best thing to do is to go and try on a number of bands at a local store to try and find one that works with it. Do you know what kind of diamond band you want?

Yes, exactly. It''s the shape of the prongs that''s the problem. I like pretty simple jewelry -- I was thinking of perhaps a channel set band or something similar. Basically, something with a row of diamonds.

I have gone to a few jewelry stores locally, and everyone basically takes one look at my engagement ring and tells me nothing is going to fit flush to it. But if the plain platinum band does, why can''t there be a ring that is similar in shape but includes diamonds? It doesn''t have to be flush per se, though that would be great. I''m just looking for something that would complement my ring, rather than look mismatched.

Hmmm...I would think a low set channel would work fairly well. You could also have diamonds gypsy set into an otherwise plain band in the worst case scenario...

Oh, and the other fun thing is that I wear a size 8 ring, so I can't actually try on anything at jewelry stores. If I'd been able to, I probably would have realized that the prongs might be a problem. Doh!

Another silly question -- what's a "low" channel set? It seems all the channel set rings I've seen are about the same height.
