Setting question

I really think my girlfriend would love this setting, she is really set on an oval diamond. But the halo around the diamond seems like it may blur out the diamond a lot. Is it just me or do you think the diamond would look great with this setting.

It's a design meant to give the illusion of a larger center stone. The center blends into the halo as you say. Personal preference on whether you want the stone to be visually separate from the halo or to be seamless with it.

For some reason, the link does not take me to a setting. But I would not buy an expensive setting unless you know that she specifically wants it. For the price of a Tacori halo, you could also get a fantastic pave halo by Victor Canera, probably. So I would try to find out more what she likes, or else set the diamond in a cheap solitaire and then let her choose a setting after the proposal.
