Setting question

My girlfriend says she saw a trellis setting that didn''t have the horizontal bar that connected the prongs. I have searched and can''t find what she is talking about. If this is an ignorant question, i apologize, but is off her rocker? Is there a setting out there that she may have seen that doesn''t have a horizontal support bar? If there is, that may be exactly what i''m looking for.

Not that I am 100% certain about what you are talking about, but posting an example (even an exmple of what is WRONG) may help... So, for example, how about the whiteflash U-prong setting? Or the
D'Vatche ones. To me a "trellis" setting is one with the wires of the prongs crossing underneath the stone - if this is not so, than I could use an example to pinpoint something among the images of rings I remember...

In the mentime, how about browsing something called: wedingbands.com ? they have a rather large collection of designer settings and one may just happen to be simmilar to what you are looking for, I hpe

Check out Hoover & Strong settings. I think I saw one there that didn't have the horizontal stabilizer bar. I don't know why the manufacturers do that...it just ends up looking clunky to me. Maybe too many people were abusing their rings, so they decided to 'beef' them up a bit.
