Hey PSers, I''ve been lurking for quite some time now, absorbing your immense knowledge and drooling over your beautiful jewelry.

I know you guys can help me with my dilemma. I absolutely LOVE the Tacori Rosebud setting, but the price? not so much. We have seen several Tacori-inspired settings that are VERY similar, cheaper in price and really achieve the look of the rosebud, but i''m not sure if I want to settle for a "stunt double" rosebud, plus there''s all the copyright issues with the crescent sides and all that.

so i need an alternative...

My question:
If you had a 1.52 ct RB, what setting would you place the stone in to maximize the size of the diamond and really show it off?

My finger size is 7.25, I''m not fan of solitaire settings or very thin settings as I believe they make my finger look larger.

What I love about the rosebud is the U-shaped prongs that really show off the diamond, not to mention the beautiful craftsmanship of the ring itself.

I also love Michael B.''s micropave rings, but not their price tags. and i''m pretty sure the width of those settings are very thin, a no no for my larger fingers.

Diamond Specs:
1.52 H SI1 (eye clean)
GIA EX/EX/EX
1.2 on HCA

Thanks in advance!

If you love the rosebud, I''d shop around and see if you can find one at a little bit of a discount. I''ve heard folks here getting good price quotes on tacori from sister''s jewelers in boston. Goodoldgold is a Pricescope vendor and also a tacori dealer so i''d call them for a quote. I''d also check with Mark T at Engagementringsdirect.com b/c he''s been able to get a few designers as well. Some places are also offering holiday specials right now which can really help on the pricetag.

Welcome out of lurkville!

I agree with what mssalvo said. Also, if you do a Tacori rosebud search on PS, it comes up with a few hits.

BTW, have you tried on any 'thin' settings? Here is a link to a post with pics of some of our PSers 'thin' rings on their lovely larger fingers.
