Setting prices at Joe Escobar?

After spending the day looking at local jewelry shops yesterday, and finding that a VERY basic platinum setting was going to run $1200-1500 minimum, I''ve decided that I need to look around.

For those of you who know Joe Escobar''s store, are their setting prices good? His store is an hour from my home - is it worth the drive?
