Hi!
I need some advice here. I purchased a .24 ct antique cushion cut diamond with the dimensions of 3.4x3.4 x 2.8. to have set in a custom made wedding band for my fiance.

it''s really beautiful and has a gorgeous open culet and high crown. I live in Seattle, and contacted Green Lake Jewelers about having it set. In a perfect world, I''d have it set in platinum, but there''s no way I can afford that. So I''m looking at palladium. The depth of the stone is my only concern, but because it has such a high crown I''m hoping that it won''t be too large to set in a men''s wedding band. I''m hoping for something around 6 mm, and to have the diamond set in the center.

here''s a pic of a ring from james allen that is similar to what I''d like, but only with the cushion set in the center.

I was quoted that it would cost approximately $1200-$1500 to construct the ring in palladium. It may cost more if there needs to be a rise in the band b/c of the depth.

Is this a good price? Is there anywhere else that does good custom work that is affordable? I''m hoping to keep the cost no more than $1500.

THANKS!!!

P.S.-This is a men''s band!!

Have you considered Titnium? A nice tension set ring would be awesome. Bruce Boone is well regarded on PS: www.boonerings.com

Kenny has a couple of tension set rings by him and they are awesome. Larger diamonds, but you get the idea.

I have looked into other metal options, but only want to get one that is resizeable.

Ok ,then I''d call Brian gavin Diamonds and Whiteflash to get quotes. I suspect that the price is because it is such a thick and wide band and metals are really pricey right now.
