Long time reader, first time poster. I hope I'm in the right thread :)

So... I found a fabulous e-ring but... it's about twice the budget. To bring it in budget, we think we'll use a white sapphire instead of a diamond. My wonderful BF, found a jeweler in San Francisco who has the setting, but only with ruby or pink sapphire side stones. The jeweler called his supplier to find out if s/he had any more of the setting with blue sapphires but was told no.

I'm hoping that one of you fabulous PSers might have a lead on where I might find the setting (or the manufacturer). If not, I'd like to have the setting made, but I'm not sure how hard it will be for a good jeweler to get the graduated sapphires cut. Any thoughts?

Thank you!!! :D

You might want to request that this is moved to Rocky Talk to get more responses :wavey:

(Yes, questions about diamonds and settings go in Rocky Talky. This one is to show off finished pieces of jewelry. You have to click Report Concern in the top right corner of your first post and ask the moderator to move your thread.)

What is your total budget? I will tell you that a white sapphire just won't have the same appearance as a diamond. If you have the ring made, you might be able to have to made to take a smaller diamond. But it won't be cheap with those sapphires which would probably have to be custom cut.

I am going to suggest that maybe you look a little further to see what else you can find with sapphires. Kirk Kara makes some high quality settings with sapphires:

I do believe Pearlmans sells him, but under a different name. Just calls it the Pearlman collection.

I agree dont get get a white sapphire. whatever your budget is i think you can find something lovely in this style. If that ring is twice your budget, then isnt your budget about 10k? if so, you can get something really amazing for that. diamond and all

I haven't seen this one on his website, but found it on pinterest. Leads me to believe they must have a setting similar in there collection somewhere

The last two rings Niel posted are beautiful. Faycullen.com has some gorgeous rings that are very similar. Look at the site under Engagement Rings. I'm not sure about the center stones though. Some were EGL rated.

Thank you all so much!

Yes, the budget is 10-12K. I really thought that we would fall in love with a center stone and upgrade the setting over time, but so far it's been the other way around :)

Diamondseeker2006, Niel and Calliecake, thank you for the leads! The Breski rings are really close and I hadn't seen his work before.

I went to my favorite jewelry store today and they actually had that breski brand in there store. I got some pics! They look dark bit just because jewelry store lighting is so fing hard to photograph in

Looks really pretty. That was so nice of you to do Niel! I went online and looked at the settings Diamondseeker recommended. They were also very pretty.
