I had my old wedding set made into a cluster ring. However, it didn't come out QUITE the way I wanted it. :? Wish to GOD I knew about pricescope a looooooooooooong time ago.

Anyway. The ring looks like this (ABOVE) Center stone stats: .87 carat D color, VS2 marquise

and I want it to look like this (BELOW)

Who would you recommend to do the setting? And what size diamonds would I need? Do you think older cuts would be better? Open to ALL ideas!

Hi soxfan :wavey:

I don't know if you are still thinking about resetting this stone - or even if you still have it. But I came across your ring in the D-colored diamonds thread, and LOVED it! The reason I loved it so much was the seamless setting to it, and the perfect match it has with your wedding band. Matches - without being matchy-matchy, or identical and repetitive.

I think the setting is pure 'old world' without being old-fashioned at all, and is substantial without being flashy. I found this thread because I was looking around to see if there were any other photos of it. I do hope you don't change it! It's substantial and lovely, and it looks to have been made so intelligently - no weird angles or things that don't flow. Anyway, just wanted to say that it was my favorite ring in that thread and I really hope it stays with you, in its original format! - for a very long time. i think it's a classic.

Thank you! I do still have the ring. The wedding band I have traded in for credit on a new band. I wear it as a cocktail ring sometimes, and can't afford to re set it anyways.
