Hi everyone,
Thinking about a new wedding set that I'd like to create...
The general inspiration concept is a mismatching e-ring / w-ring set with a e-ring that's a thin pave banded e-ring about 1.8 mm with a larger eternity ring about 3 mm or so.
Credit for images that I'm drawn to:
Frankie's 2nd set:

My eye is really drawn to these and I think what I like about these sets is the lovely PROPORTIONS: to me, there's so much visual interest b/c there are THREE different distinct sets of sizes, each giving a different light performance...
--First, the larger center stone taking center stage and clearly the the spotlight
--Second, the eternity band with the middle sized diamond, clearly not as showy as the center but still rightfully respectable and sparkly
--Third, the delicate cute stones of the pave in the engagement ring
So, I will be looking for a hand forged set, to support the artistry and also b/c I want to be sure that the set fits together safely well.
I was thinking for the e-ring a setting similar to dimend scaasi alessandra as in the photo. Changes would be with addition of shallow u cut pave on the shank. I really like the setting b/c it shows the diamond from the side view and also b/c I would think it would allow the center stone to be set a tad bit higher off the finger -- there is a small space it looks like between the top of the finger and the point where the prongs meet the cutlet and that maybe could be increased a few mm to make the diamond higher. If the diamond sits a bit higher, that would make more room for the wedding band.
The wedding band I would want as a u cut eternity, to show the diamonds from the side and to echo the way the e-ring also shows the center stone from the side. As the eternity band I would think would need to be REALLY REALLY LOW to avoid hitting prongs. I would still get a little .8mm spacer from etsy regardless to give some protection. I really like the scalloped look of eternity bands, but this would mean that some edge of diamonds from the eternity band would hand over, so would need to protect the ering. I would hope that the spacer, plus the design of the e-ring would be enough to help with the protection.
Here's a photo of dec2410's eternity and how low this sits - so low it fits almost flush with a 6 prong! Lower than the prongs!

Anyway, I'm wondering what people think - any thoughts / concerns / ideas appreciated!!!
Anyway
