Hi, everyone! I have been searching endlessly for a vintage setting for the OEC my fiance proposed with in October, to no avail. I feel like Goldilocks, because none of them have been quite right so far. In my search, I found a ring, once set with another stone that was about 8.5mm in diameter. It is a basket type setting with 8 prongs. My diamond is 7.27x7.54x4.95mm, so assuming the setting is deep enough, would it be possible to set my diamond in this setting by shaving down the prongs somehow? I am a bit of a novice, so I don't know how easy that is, or if it is even possible. Thanks!
