Which setting would be better for a round 1.7 carat. 4 or 6, is there advantages to either one? Does the 6 make it look rounder?

Thanks

There is a bunch of threads were people debated the pros and cons of four and six prongs for RBs. IMO, as long as you are going to be vigilant about having the ring checked every six months or so, go with whatever appeals to you the most. Go to some stores and try on rings with four and six prongs. Get a feel for how they look face up and also from the side.

Good luck!

I prefer the 6 prong-to me it looks more round

6 prongs do make the diamond look more round, many have 4 prongs and their diamonds have been fine. There is also the option of double split prongs which are my favourite if your vendor can do them.

Well, it is a matter of preference, but I will say that 6-prong would be a more common choice when considering a 1.70ct diamond. That is a large diamond. Many customers tend to select 6-prong when purchasing round brilliants that exceed 1.50ct. However, it all depends on what you like. Good luck and best wishes.....
