hi,

well, i''m back home from my vacation and while gone, i had the chance to visit some better jewelers like Tiffany and Bailey Banks & Biddle, to browse at rings and get some ideas for how to set my new, gorgeous (!) EC! i''d had it set in a 4-prong solitaire setting, white gold, just for now, until i decided on how to really set it.

at both jewelers they suggested that i consider leaving the EC as it is, in the solitaire, and get an eternity-style (well, a 5-stone or a 7-stone) wedding band. they thought that would look great with the simple EC stone since it''s a good sized one, and would look really classic. i liked the way the round brilliants sparkled and contrasted with the oh-so-pretty emerald cut stone! i hadn''t planned on getting an actual wedding ring. rather, i thought i''d make the EC ring look substantial with a dressed up setting and just forgo the wedding band altogether. heck, we''ve been married 16 years, i just don''t need the two rings, i don''t think.

this solitaire setting, though, definitely makes me look engaged and it needs a mate, if i''m not going to make the setting a "stand alone" ring. i really loved the way the rings together on my hand, too. i saw a memoire ring and then i went to tiffany and fell in love with theirs. of course it''s over my budget since we just spent a bundle on my stone and whiteflash can custom make me the tiffany ring for half the price.

later i will upload a picture of my new EC. i have one picture to show of it. i need to take more!

anyway, what are your thoughts on my leaving the EC in the solitaire setting and getting an eternity style band? i know, i know, it''s all about personal preference but still...
