Setting for my .6 ct pear diamond

Hello all,

I have a beautiful .6 ct pear shaped diamond in a pave setting. Here are a few pictures:

So here's my problem.. the band is a size 7 1/2 and I wear a size 5. I have tried to get it resized several times, but most jewelers wont touch it since it is a pave setting. They are worried that sizing the band would alter the prongs and cause the smaller diamonds to fall out.

I am constantly working with my hands, so I have considered getting a new setting for the diamond, or just trading it in for larger solitaire. Currently, though, I am looking for pear diamond settings that my diamond would look nice in, and even make it look bigger (as I am suffering from a bit of shrinkage).

Any advice, pictures of pear settings, or places I can find pear settings would be greatly appreciated. I have already looked at the ones from LOTG as an option.

Sounds like you need a halo...here are some that I found when I was thinking about haloing my pear. I didnt do it and
got a blingy wedding band instead. I hope I can attach all these files...here goes!

I just wanted to say that I actually like your band the way it is now. I wish you could get it resized. Have you
considered sizing beads or there is some kind of horseshoe thing that may also work. You could get a wedding
band that fits and wear it on the outside of your set and that will help hold your engagement ring on but it
wont keep it from spinning....oh and you could always put on 30lbs or so...that should help it fit!

Two and a half sizes is a pretty big difference, so I don''t know if sizing beads or other methods would help, it would probably not be comfortable on your finger. If it''s not an engagement ring, maybe you can wear it on your middle or forefinger? If it is an engagement ring, I love all the examples of the pear halos that tyty posted. Maybe you''ll be able to sell the mounting to help pay for a new setting. I''m sorry to hear you can''t get it sized though, the current setting is very pretty.

Ty- Those are just gorgeous.. Absolutely beautiful. I especially like the second one, and the third one too. I find myself drawn to the split shank settings, but would have to find one that would accommodate a smaller sized diamond (.6 ct). The last one looks like it would do that better. Would you mind telling me where you found those? I would love to do a little more research on them.

Stone- Thanks for resizing my pictures. Is there an easy way to do that? I tried resizing mine and they got REALLY small.

Freefly- It is my engagement ring so I really need to be able to wear it on the ring finger.

I just do a print screen and then paste it in the paint program and safe it as jpeg.

Ugg...if I had mine haloed I was planning on having it done custom so I didnt keep track of where the photos
came from (sorry). I will try to find a setting like the last one. It seems very similar to the one you have
(which is very pretty). If you have something made custom (which you usually have to for haloed pears) they
can make it to fit your .6.

Whiteflash does lovely custom work. You could send them the pic and ask for a quote. I'm not sure what your
budget is.

Here is a bluenile ring that looks a lot like that ring without the halo. You may be able to use this mount and
just have someone custom make the halo head and mount it on this ring. I dont know...you would need to
ask a jeweler if that could be done.
