I''m making my final choices for my first e-ring purchase. The folks at Whiteflash have been awesome - helping me along with the process. However, I wanted to throw some questions out as a free-for-all to the Pricscopers to get some candid responses.

It''s coming down to:
1) A Whiteflash Crescendo - half bezel, channel set diamonds, white gold, nice engraving.
2) A Whiteflash custom design based primarily off a Knox Jewelers Hand Engraved Legacy setting. Very nice looking prong setting w/ split prongs, surpise diamond, channel set diamonds, and cool engraving.

The setting is for a 0.8-0.9ct rb most likely sourced from WF. The budget is calling for white gold.

I''m a sucker for nature-inspired engraving and some diamonds along the sides for extra flash. I was never attracted to half-bezel designs until I came across the Crescendo. Are there pro''s/con''s to a half bezel design vs. standard prongs? Does it make the center stone less flashy? (does less light get to it?) I like the Crescendo because it appears to be a bit lower than the Knox-inspired. However, I dig the split prongs and classy styling of the Knox piece.

My decision making gears are stuck! Shoot me some thoughts, opinions, considerations... what other questions should I be asking? Thanks everyone!

Another view of the Crescendo... note how the half bezel is kind of scalloped... neat-o.

Another shot of the Knox Jewelers... This is one of my favorite settings that I came across in my search... just the right amount of engraving, side stones, and flash.

Are you the one proposing or the one receiving the ring?

The reason I ask is that the Crescendo is a very unique and specific style, and unless she has pointed out something very similar, you're better off going with something more classic, which the Knox is. That is, if you're buying it for her and trying to surprise her. If you're receiving the ring and having full say in the design process, ignore this.

I prefer the Knox either way, for what it's worth! And by the way, WF does great custom work and almost exactly replicated a setting that I had photographed for them.

Ha ha -- asking for opinions on which one to pick isn''t going to get you anywhere because everyone has different taste. That''s why there are so many different things to choose from! I like the crescendo because of the bezel and low setting, which give it a less flashy and understated look. If you''re looking for something more show-y, then setting the diamond up in high prongs is the way to go.

I agree with jstarfireb.

If you''re giving the ring and trying to surprise someone, go with the Knox ring, as it is the more classic of the two.

Those are both really nice. I'd wear either myself. The whiteflash one has a more solid look and the knox one has a slightly more feminine look to it.

I like the diamond in the back of the shank on the WF one. If that a new design?

I also like the diamond at the base of the shank... on the underside of the finger. I really don''t know if it is a new design although the WF rep indicated that it is not one of their most commonly ordered pieces.

I like the Knox one. It seems more delicate while still keeping the engraving. I like the engraving on the WF ring, though. I bet they could make it with a different head.

I also like the delicateness of the knox setting a little better. Both are lovely though!
