How about this.

Gypsy, I think that is the fastest I have ever fallen in love.

I think you best bet is to get a stock cast setting and then have BGd finish it off. I know the Truth solitaire is $750. A cast setting would be less, as it would be 14k. Check out www.uniquesettings.com and www.adwar.com to see castings, and then you can call Lesley about the price. They use those companies a lot and can finish the casting off to perfection.

I completely agree with DD here!... go through those sites, there are a ton of settings to choose. He can finish off the prongs nicely I''m sure.

hi! Beautiful sapphire. Mine looked a lot like that in color (and size too). Mine is set in a halo bezel. I love it, but the stone appears quite a bit darker once set. In retrospect I would have chosen a lighter sapphire for this setting or set my sapphire in prongs. Sounds like you are leaning that way, but I just wanted to chime in. I have threads showing my sapphire loose and set if you search by my name.

I love the last one posted by Gypsy.

I think that the sapphire looks nice against white gold, but really stands out against the yellow gold. I also like the engraved band look with this (that you had in the white gold picture). I sort of envisioned it as E-W with small round diamonds at each angular point to highlight the shape, and then the engraved band finishing it off. But since you want to go N-S I'll have to think of something else. Looking forward to seeing what you eventually decide!

ETA: Something like this would accentuate the shape of your stone while keeping it N-S.

MTG my zircon is the same shape and I think size. I'm very pleased with how it turned out in the LOGR so that may be an option. Also I have a vibrant blue sapphire (round brilliant) of 1 carat and I put that in an LOGR halo as well. I'm sure you know the rings so won't bore you with photos again but if you're looking for a cost effective setting I would take at look at them. The princess cut settings were the ones I looked at for the Zircon but asked to have normal rather than V prongs.
