Setting a smaller diamond in an old setting - issues??

Quick question -

I have a "Tacori 2326 1/2x" setting that I purchased with a CZ stone in it. I purchased it from the showroom as I got an amazing deal on it. With that being said, I believe the CZ stone is approximately a 1.5 ct size. It is approximately 7.44 mm across give or take.

Currently I am looking at a 1.31 ct diamond with measurements of approx. 7.03-7.06 mm accross. Would there be any issues in removing the CZ stone and setting a slightly smaller diamond it its place? Would there be any issues with how it would look?

Love that setting. We have one of those in house as well . You should be ok on that size. I don't see a problem using slightly smaller center.

Do you know if that Tacori setting can be resized? and how much it could be resized down? I've heard sizing down two sizes is about as much as you want to take it.
