Seriously considering this stone... your thoughts?

So I''ve been in touch with WF and they found this stone for me. I''m seriously considering it. It seems to be a good price and they say it''s completely eye clean. It scored a 0.8 on HCA and here are the specs:

Cut: Ideal RB
Carat: 1.51
Color: H
Clarity: SI1
Depth%: 62.9
Table: 56
Crown Angle: 35
Pavillion Angle: 40.4
Girdle: Slightly Thick to Thick
Meas.: 7.20-7.27X4.55
Polish: VG
Sym.: VG
Flor: No

Any opinions would be greatly appreciated!

Hi PS,

It is not a bad looking stone, although not top cut. I take it that is not so important to you? (it isn''t to everyone) If not, this would still be a pretty stone.

It is facing up smaller than it should, because of the depth and girdle. Smaller than my 1.4 actually. I personally feel that when a stone is right at a magic number, it should "look" like it, I''m paying for it after all.

I just wouldn't be able to get over the depth! What's the point of having a 1.5ct if it didn't look like it! Is this the only option??

Thanks for all the advice! that is def. not the only option... i was just starting to look about a month now and i thought this looked good. What is a good rule of thumb about depth, crown, pavillion. I just don''t know that much at all about all these aspects and don''t want to make a wrong choice esp. with such a big purschase!

If you try to stay with these, you should be ok.

Depth 60.3-62.2

Table 54-57

Crown angle 34-35

Pavillion angle 40.6-41

Symmetry and Polish Very Good or better

Girdle Thin to Med. or Med. to Slightly thick




Having said all that, the one jayrenay posted would be a great one.
