Hello All of you Fabulous Experts! I'm back with a super sentimental project and I was really hoping that I could get some feedback on a stone I came across. I'll start by saying that I have a very low budget (would really love not to go over $700) for this project so I know that I'm not going to be getting the best of the best on this one, but just having a complete ring that still sparkles would really mean the world. You all were able to guide me to the most beautiful perfect stone for my recent 10 year upgrade and I've learned so much from your expertise! The angles are a little bit outside of what is considered ideal and I can see that there will be some light loss in the middle, but I am also really surprised by how white the stone seems to be for an I (possibly a video/lighting trick I realize). I'm just so afraid to spend way too much on a terrible dull stone.
This is the stone I've been looking at https://www.gcalusa.com/certificate-search.html?certificate_id=322910879
It will be going into the setting that my husband originally proposed with. Long story short, we took my ring in to have sizing done and the jeweler completely destroyed the ring to what we thought was a point beyond repair. We ended up buying a new ring (not from that jeweler) but I never could part with the original setting. Fast forward, on a whim I decided to have one more jeweler look at it and they are going to be able to repair it! So now I just have a sad empty setting with no stone and I'd love to add one back so that I can wear it occasionally and eventually have something to pass down to a child or niece. It originally had a 1.26 carat I color stone. I think something around that size would look best, but obviously with my budget, beggars can't be choosers!
Thank you so much in advance for any feedback! I appreciate you all so much!
