Hi,
Wondering if you guys can give me advice on selling an engagement ring. First, though, it''s -not- my ring. I am happily engaged and my fiance loves her Whiteflash ACA diamond. (even though we did spend a panicky hour or two when we first discovered girdle reflection)
So. I have a small diamond engagement ring that is a friends. She doesn''t want to sell it herself, the ex-fiance doesn''t want it back, so here I am. I told her I''d unload it for her. I''m not sure of the specs on it, but I''d say it''s a 1/3 of a carat, white gold ring. Maybe a little bigger, .4 maybe.
What is the best way to go about selling this for the best deal? Obviously I could just bring it to a pawn shop, but I imagine I''d get a terrible price. Should I just bring it to my local jeweler, or is that apt to be just as bad. Or should I try eBay? I''m pretty confident I can locate the cert for the diamond, for what it''s worth.
Any ideas? As always, thanks for everyone''s help. I enjoyed my time looking for a ring immensely thanks to all you guys. Hell, I think I''d probably even enjoy selling diamonds for a living.
Oh, and while I''m here, might as well ask my question about girdle reflection. Is girdle reflection any less pronounced in an unset stone? Or does it appear the same in the diamond, set or unset.
Thanks!
