Selling a diamond advice

I am not a diamond seller, I have a ring that I bought for the wife when we had more extra money. Now we could use the money.

Anyone have any advice for trying to sell just the stone or the ring?

I see similar stones retail online for ~$10k

thanks! good info.. I think I''ll put it on eBay.. would people recommend selling just the diamond or the whole ring.. I tend to think just the diamond would do better because people would look at it as something they can put in what they want, instead of a ring that they''d have to deal with..
