Hello,

Thanks to every here on the Pricescope for providing great information and advice! I've narrowed down my search for a princess cut engagement diamond down to these three (all from James Allen):

Diamond #1251734 ($3640)
1.09ct. H VS1
Ideal Cut
73.3 Depth %
70 Table %
Excellent Polish
Very Good Symmetry
Slightly thick to very thick girdle
5.62*5.59*4.10mm

Diamond #1253578 ($3570)
1.03ct. H VS1
Ideal Cut
72.9 Depth %
68 Table %
Excellent Polish
Very Good Symmetry
Medium thick to slightly thick girdle
5.51*5.50*4.01mm

Diamond #1251691 ($3260)
0.95ct. H VS1
Ideal Cut
72.6 Depth %
69 Table %
Excellent Polish
Excellent Symmetry
Slightly thick to thick girdle
5.44*5.41*3.93mm

I also have some red-green color blindness, so you're advice would be greatly appreciated, especially in helping evaluate the ASET images!

Can you post the link to the stones? Or at least the report and the loupe image please?

Great to see the first ASET images from James Allen! The first and last look best to me, the second one I am not keen on, what I would do if you are having trouble choosing, ask for their gemologist Julianna to inspect both diamonds to give you her opinion on them. The first ASET looks the best, the red appears to be spread throughout the diamond which is desirable.

I added the appropriate link with each ASET image.

The first and foremost question is: what are YOU looking for, and what is important for YOU?

If the label ''ideal'' from the seller is important to you, none of these three examples deserves that label, if that label is meant to be taken seriously.

Live long,
Sorry, I left out my criteria from the original post. I'm looking for something 0.9-1.1ct, with at least H color and eye-clean. The labels for the different graded specs are not as important to me as the actual performance of the diamond. If a diamond is labeled "Ideal" by the vendor, but isn't actually AGS-0 Ideal quality, I'm okay with that. I'm just trying to get the best I can find for around $3,500 for the stone. Looking at Whiteflash ACA's and princess cuts from other vendors that have high standards for "ideal" princess cuts, I think they're out of my budget.

Continuing to seek the advice of everyone here, should I pass on these diamonds and keep looking? Should I loosen my criteria (ie. look at small carat weights, which would be okay if the 1ct-ish $3500 diamonds are really undesirable)? Or are these options good, and if so, which seems best?

Here is a comparison photo of the .95ct (left) and 1.09ct (right) stones. The ASET images of these didn''t come out as nicely as I hoped, so I identified a few more stones that might be worth a closer look at:

I like that these stones have three chevrons (from what I can tell). Do you think any of these are worth consideration as well? Thanks!
