Hello-

First off I would like to thank all of you for the wealth of knowledge that I have gained by reading this forum over the past few weeks. It has been a fun process and I think I may have finally narrowed it down to these 2 AGS0 princess cut diamonds.

The price and 4C's are the same for both. I am looking for input on which would be preferred based on the dimensions, table, depth, girdle, etc. I am working on getting pics/cert/etc so this is all I have to go on for now.

One thing that I think I just need reassurance on is that the G color will be fairly white. Prior to finding these, I had been pretty strict about nothing lower than F. Thanks for any help!

1:
Carat : 0.98
Clarity : VS2

Measurements : 5.52 x 5.33 x 4
Depth : 75
Table : 59.1%
Girdle : thin to slightly thick
Culet : None
Polish : Ideal
Symmetry : Ideal
Fluorescence : None

2:
Carat : 0.98
Clarity : VS2
Color : G
Measurements : 5.59 x 5.4 x 3.97
Depth : 73.5
Table : 61.9%
Girdle : medium to slightly thick
Culet : None
Polish : Ideal
Symmetry : Ideal
Fluorescence : None

do you have any more information, like pictures?

Trying to get some pictures/idealscope/etc. The vendor was surprisingly short in his reply to my initial request

We can''t tell much from the numbers, so get those pics/certs (and ASETs if possible) for us! They both sound promising.

You have absolutely nothing to worry about with G color and could even go lower if you want to save a few bucks. Princess up to even H-I color look nice and white! I have a beautifully white I color princess, and the color looks like an F due to its ideal cut quality.

I love that you''re looking just under 1ct as well, because that lets you avoid the 1ct price premium. It''s usually somewhat difficult to find stones of that carat weight.

Finally, you could drop clarity to an eye clean SI1 or SI2 and not pay for the VS premium, and the stone will look absolutely the same if you make sure it''s eye clean.

Ditto Jstar, we can't tell by numbers, so photos and ASET images if you can get them are very useful please - both AGS0 they should be lovely diamonds.

Could you also get a copy of the grading reports?

If you cannot get that, do ask the vendor where he got the description for the girdle thickness and the fluorescence. Both are not the correct AGS-descriptions.

Live long,

AGS refers to the lowest level of fluorescence as "negligible". They never say "none" so ask for a copy of the report to confirm this discrepancy.

Mr. Antwerp & swingirl-

Both very good points that I did not pick up on, thank you very much. I send a second request for pics and certs last night, we''ll see

FWIW, this is a well-known and much talked about vendor here in this forum...

Yahoo, she called me Mister Antwerp. What an honour.

Honestly, I much prefer to be called Paul.

Both Have Sold.

I bought the first one.

The other one sold a couple days later while mine was on reserve.

I know this because I called Excel Diamonds and they said they weren''t available but GOG had them both listed on their websites. The diamond cost me a higher premium but I received a lot more info than Excel could have provided by just calling it in.

I find Excel''s website very outdated. I called about 4 between .98-1.2 carats and none were available but still listed.

Sorry to put ya down.

IF SOMEONE COULD PLEASE COMMENT ON THE SPECS IT WOULD STILL BE GREAT

Hmm well I''ll be. Makes the reply I received yesterday even more ''brush-off''-ish:

"Both are excellent, you can not tell them apart. These are Ideal for light performance, Cut, Polish, and symmetry."

Appreciate the reply, the search continues
