Could I get some advice in picking between these two settings? I have a round 0.615 ct diamond. which of these 2 settings would it look best in? I am leaning more towards the Comfort Fit Surprise but I am scared that setting will hide the diamond too much. If you have any pics with a similar ring I would greatly appreciate to see them. Thanks!

I think the second one would look better with your diamond. It''s just classic and lovely. You can''t go wrong with the second one.

definitely the second one for me!!!

I also think the second one would look terrific. I was in my local jewelers the other day and they had a similiar setting just like it and it really showcased the diamond.

Thank you for the help! :O)

ditto- the second one...good luck!

Ok.. that first setting looks new to me, and it reminds me of the ritani setting, and love that setting, I also like the legato , you really can''t go wrong with either. so it''s a toss up for me

In terms of appearance, they both look elegant and lovely. Therefore, I choose #2 for the price (about $300 less, quite a difference in terms of percentage of total price). I guess #1 costs more because of the two surprise melees and the slightly wider band (2.8 mm vs. 2.5mm), but these extras do not do much for me.

They are both lovely settings. I think if you like an open, airy look, you should go with option 2. The diamond will be more visible in that setting.

I have a setting with small surprise diamonds (Vatche Swan). The diamonds aren''t visible, really, to anyone else. I sort of like it that way. When I''m working in the office, I look down and see those little surprise stones, and they brighten my mood. so I guess it''s all up to what you want, and how you respond to things. If you think the surprise diamonds are worth the extra cost, then go for them! If you like a clean, open look, choose option 2.

Hope this helps!

I prefer the look of the second option, since you can see more of the profile of the stone. I tried on the Ritani that the first setting is based on, and didn''t like how much of the stone was covered (although the surprise stones are awfully fun!).

thank you so much for the pic!

I like the first setting because of the "surprise" on the side which gives it a great profile.

They are both lovely choices, but I guess I would give a slight edge to the Sleek Lines setting. But either way, you can''t go wrong!

I prefer the 2nd one - come back with pics when it''s all done!

Sorry for the late update. The final decision ended up being the comfort fit surprise. Thanks to everyone on this post for their help and also to Liza at whiteflash!!! She really made this purchase alot easier. As soon as I have the ring and prsent it to my fiance in feb I will post some pics. Thanks again everyone!

i havent received the ring yet but here are some pics from whiteflash of the final product.

I actually preferred the comfort fit so I am glad you went with it. It looks beautiful and I am sure your FF will love it.

thanks merrymunky!

They both are very beautiful designs, but I think you are right about the comfort fit one covering up the sides of your stone... The sleek lines design is so simple and stunning... You can''t go wrong!

Gorgeous, Chaco! I love the comfort fit setting, and think it looks gorgeous with your diamond! Congrats!

I really like the first one, there is something about the surprise diamond that tickles my fancy!

Very pretty!
