Hello,
I am shopping for a loose cushion to be set in an engagement ring. I've found one that looks pretty good to me, but I've never done this before and am learning about diamonds for the first time now. Hoping that some of the experts on this forum can give me their thoughts.
It's a 0.87 ct cushion, E color, VS1 stone. The GIA cert says it's excellent cut, but I know GIA doesn't have a standard for cushion cuts. Here is what the company put in an email to me:
You'll be happy to hear that your diamond is very bright and has very nice light performance. Its crystal is located under the table but is very small and blends with the faceting completely. The diamond faces completely eye clean and it offers an icy white "E" color. This diamond is a fantastic option and the gemologist thinks it's quite beautiful. I strongly recommend it for your diamond purchase and have believe you'll be very happy with it when you see it in person.
I have the ASET image I am posting here, and will post a normal photograph and the GIA cert when I get them.
Thanks,
Andy
